Farmer in the Piggy
For those of you who have not had the privilege of meeting my children in person, when they sing there is no 'inside' voice. Lately, Tater has been singing different words to Farmer in the Dell. Most of the time he makes them up himself and you can't help but laugh. Like the title to this post. He sung that one ad nauseum. (ie about 20 times in a row). Just that part.
Also, his Dad has yet to realize that something said 6 months ago will be repeated. We were lucky that he decided to sing this one at home. Considering how loud it was sung.
The Daddy takes the Nurse, the Daddy takes the Nurse. Hi Ho the dario the Daddy takes the Nurse.
And finally he finished up with:
The Farmer in the Cow, The Farmer in the Cow.
I am in so much trouble when they are both talking and singing. I can't imagine what it is going to sound like. I hope they get my husband's singing voice and not mind. My mother has even asked me to stop singing. GRIN.

Mommy is an RN, and Daddy's just driving her to work.
The cow is having a rough time giving birth and needs help.
There :-)
Posted by: Harvey at July 16, 2005 12:33 PMDon't sing the Jingle Bells, Batman smells song. I got in trouble for that one.... :)
What is bad for me is my girls want ME to sing a song over and over until they learn it....
Posted by: Amy at July 16, 2005 12:51 PMAt least they're not singing "Nobody loves me, Everybody hates me, I think I'll go eat worms". Mine sang that in K-Mart, really, really, really loudly. I'm not even sure where they learned it.
Posted by: Patticakes at July 16, 2005 02:25 PMLOL! Tara is fond of singing hymns in her outside voice. Usually when we are outside, and people must think we are all evangelists.
Posted by: Sally at July 16, 2005 06:02 PMHope you've got it all on video! This will be great footage for the girls they bring home from college!!
Posted by: Marie at July 16, 2005 07:24 PMMarie is right! Be sure to have a dup HIDDEN!
Posted by: Indigo at July 16, 2005 09:17 PMMy husband got a scholarship for singing. I couldn't carry a tune if my life depended on it. Guess who all three of our kids take after?
The youngest two still like to sing. Loudly. (Is there any other way?) This soon turns into an argument (also at top volume) about who can or can't sing. As if this weren't bad enough, at some point one of them says, "I sing like Mom, are you saying Mom can't sing?" I want to set standards for my kids but I hadn't planned on my lack of singing ability being one of them.
Posted by: marybeth at July 17, 2005 01:58 PMHow cute! I just had to chuckle.
Posted by: Danielle at July 17, 2005 11:11 PMYour children are just too cute. However, please let Patticakes know that I still sing the "Nobody like me song" I guess it's just part of being a middle child. hehehe
