First a couple of these guys moved onto our back porch:
= = = =
Which someone told me was not poisonous... they might be but I can't figure out how to look them up to see what they are. Then a new type of spider moved in... this one worries me... it 'looks' poisonous ... ok, to me it does... anyone know what it is?
= = = =
Never a dull moment around here.

Posted by: wRitErsbLock at January 16, 2007 08:23 AMThe second one sorta looks like a banana spider or a cousin.
Posted by: oddybobo at January 16, 2007 10:30 AM...just LOOKING at those pictures freaked me out!!! [shudder]
I hate spiders. It doesn't show or anything, though... ;)
Posted by: pam at January 16, 2007 02:00 PMIt appears to be an orb spider which according to
http://www.amonline.net.au/factSheets/orb_weaving_spiders.htm is not poisonous but:
" Orb weavers are reluctant to bite. Symptoms are usually negligible or mild local pain, numbness and swelling. Occasionally nausea and dizziness can occur after a bite. Humped Orb Weavers have very small fangs and they are timid and reluctant to bite."
