What Living Room?

As I was picking up toys for the umpteenth time, an odd thought crossed my mind. What does a living room look like when you don't have kids? I can't remember. It has only been about 4 years and I don't remember. Why? Because mine always seems to look similar to this:

= = = =

We have a 'family' room as well. That is where the TV, couch and loveseat are located. And toys.

What does your living room look like?

VW,
Oh yes. I relate. And we have only 1 child. Your living room looks pretty darn neat to me!!! This is after pick-up, right?

Marie: Yep, after pickup. Just too lazy to pick up the track as well.

AWTM: Looking forward to it.

I don't have kids and yet mine looks like that because the puppies always seem to have to have every toy out of their toy box and place them stratigically across the room so no matter where you step your stepping on a squeaker.

Oddybobo: nice to hear
QW: I had to look again. Must have picked up the dog toys. they are usually right there with the kids.

Yet, not one person has mentioned the lovely curtains I have. ;-) Soon... I hope to have something to replace those wonderful bed sheets.

It's been about 17 years since the last time I had a floor that wasn't cluttered with toys and other kid crud.

What's the purpose of a living room, anyway? I don't know anyone who actually uses it as anything except, well, a playroom...

between the dog and the husband that's about what our whole house looks like. :)

Don't let her kid you. Tater picks up as much as she does. When I was down there, Tater was diligently picking up all his toys so he and I could play and Tot was taking them out faster.

We got lucky when we arrived to LA... we had one living room for the kids, and one for 'the family'.

In our last house, we had more toys than anything in our family room.

I am not looking forward to moving again... lol.

Like nEo, we have a 'family room' for the kids and a 'living room' for the adults. The family room looks almost as good as yours (more video game stuff), and the living room has a huge pile of laundry waiting to be folded.

When my kids were Tater and Tot's age I had a "Toy Rake"... A big plastic lawn and leaf rake that I used inside to rake up all of the toys at the end of the day to be sorted and put away. I loved that fricking thing - saved my sanity many a day.

Now though, I am still *constantly* doing recon housework - just trying to get everything to it's proper place. ::sigh:: My house will not looked picked up again until September... And then only for an hour ot two at best...
